time, its MAC address is removed from the table and is "relearned"
next time it becomes active.
Note: Any locally
devices whose MAC addresses have aged out in the local "WAN" MAC
address table are broadcast to all remote ports that belong to the same
D-PVLAN (and QVLAN, if QVLAN filtering is used – see Port Details
tab).
Note: Any remotely originated unicast frames destined for local
devices whose MAC addresses have aged out in the local "WAN" MAC
address table are broadcast to (all) local port(s) that belong to the
same D-PVLAN (and QVLAN, if QVLAN filtering is used).
Note: Any locally originated unicast frames destined for remote
devices or for local devices that have aged out from the "LAN" MAC
address table are sent to the ETHER-1000 unit. The unit will then
handle those frames as per the info in its "WAN" MAC address table
for the respective destination addresses (DA). So, if the given frame's
DA has not aged out here, the frame will be discarded (DA is the local
port) or forwarded to a remote device (DA is on a remote port). On the
other hand, if the DA has aged out in the "WAN" MAC Address too, the
frame will be broadcast to all remote ports that belong to the same D-
PVLAN (and QVLAN, if QVLAN filtering is used).
Note: Presently, the multicast addresses are not learned/added to the
"WAN" MAC Address Table. Any locally originated broadcast and
multicast frames are broadcast to all local and remote ports on the
same D-PVLAN (and QVLAN, if QVLAN filtering is used).
Note: Although the ETHER-1000 sites that make up an ETHER-1000
network are normally set for the same Aging Time, the network will
operate normally if they are set differently.
"WAN" Entries
Displays the number of entries (MAC addresses) that are currently
present in the ETHER-1000 unit's MAC address table. The maximum
is 32,768.
Note: When the MAC address table is full, the new MAC addresses
will not be added to the table until some of the existing addresses have
aged out. Until then, the traffic sourced by and destined for the new
MAC address will be broadcast to all ports belonging to the same

The terms "locally originated frames" and "remotely originated frames" refer to the Ethernet
frames inputted to the ETHER-1000 system through the local and remote paddleboard ports
respectively.
