The User‐based Security Model (USM) in SNMPv3 provides security services such
as authentication and privacy of messages. This security model makes use of a
defined set of user identities displayed in the USM user table. The following
command displays SNMPv3 user information:
show snmpserver v3 user

The USM user table contains the following information:
the user name
a security name in the form of a string whose format is independent of the
Secuity Model
an authentication protocol, which is an indication that the messages sent on
behalf of the user can be authenticated
the privacy protocol

Field
Description
User Name A string representing the user name you can use to access the switch.
Protocol
Whether messages sent from this user are protected from disclosure
using a privacy protocol. Enterprise NOS supports DES algorithm
for privacy and two authentication algorithms: MD5 and
HMAC‐SHA.
