4 WIRING

4.1 Solderless Terminals

When connecting cable wires to a terminal block, use solderless terminals or crimp terminals.
The following shows two different types of solderless terminal and how to crimp such terminals
to cable wires.

Heat-shrunk tubes

Shield wire
Cover each of the crimped joints between a cable and
terminals, and the cable end, with an insulating cap, heat-
shrunk tube, or insulating tape. The purpose of this is to
prevent any accidental short circuit caused by a contact of
those joints with other terminals.
