Use a suitable lifting device to safely raise and support the machine
to get access to the components under the chassis.
1. Remove the steering wheel; refer to
7–33).
2. Remove the bearing cover from the top of the steering column.
3. Remove the steering column boot as follows:
A. Set the steering column tilt to the fully rearward position.
B. Gently pull the steering column boot over the tilt control lever.
