Function

Both CP-6010 modules are connected via a protocol according to standard IEC 60870-5-104
to the both SICAM AK devices, as well as to each other. In case of a communication failure
via IEC 60870-5-104 between the CP-6010, the system will resume communication through
an alternate serial protocol (IEC 60870-5-101).
After the system is powered-up, a communication link is established between CP-6010 and a
decision is made based on the redundancy logic. According to the decision, one of the
CP-6010 becomes an active voter and other CP-6010 hot standby.
After the communication between the SICAM AK and CP-6010 is established, a general
interrogation (GI) is initiated over the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol. Based on the priority
messages received from both systems SICAM AK, the active voter performs the voting and
decides which elements of the respective SICAM AK should become active.
The SICAM AK Redundancy supports two different modes of switchover based on voting:
Global switchover
All the configured system elements will be switched over completely. If the application
requires, single system elements can be excluded thereof.
Line-by-line switchover
All the basic system elements and protocol elements will be switched over separately
according to their fault states.
