1. Operation
The delivery/stacking operation differs between trim mode (cutting performed) and
through mode (cutting not performed).
a. Preparing for Delivery to the Stacker
(1) Trim Mode
When trimming ends, M107 goes ON a specific period of time after the start of the stop-
per release operation, moving the pusher plate to move to escape position, thus opening
the delivery path to the stacker.
(2) Through Mode
As soon as the inlet sensor (PS101) detects the leading edge (folded side) for the book-
let, M107 goes ON to move the pusher plate to escape position, thus opening the deliv-
ery path to the stacker.
b. Delivering to the Stacker
(1) Trim Mode
When the delivery sensor (PS108) detects the trailing edge (trimmed side) of the booklet
being moved by the feeding motor (M101) and the booklet is delivered to the holder as-
sembly, the holder motor (M106) is rotated in reverse a specific period of time thereafter
to move down the holder plate. M106 goes OFF when the lower limit sensor (PS111)
detects the lower limit of the holder plate.
On the other hand, the pusher motor goes ON once again a specific period of time after
the start of M106 to push out the booklet delivered to the holder plate by the pusher
plate (in escape position) to the delivery tray.
M106 start to rotate clockwise a specific period of time after the push plate ends its
movement to move up the holder plate; it goes OFF to end delivery when the upper limit
sensor (PS110) detects the upper limit of the holder plate.
(2) Through Mode
The operation in through mode is the same as it is in trim mode.
c. Upright Stacking and Detecting the Stacker Condition
The booklet pushed out of the delivery path is held between the pusher plate and the de-
livery tray, and is stacked upright. When as many booklets as are specified (in terms of
thickness) are accumulated, the stacker full sensor (PS113) goes ON to indicate that the
stacker has become full in the copier control panel and the trimmer control panel.
d. Safety Mechanism
If the stacker cover is opened while the machine is in operation, MS3 and MS4 go OFF,
cutting the drive signal path of M106 and M107, thus stopping the operation of the ma-
chine.
At the same time, PS114 also goes OFF, and an error message will be indicated in the
control panel.
(If the state of the machine is that occurring prior to the trimming of the booklet, the ma-
chine will stop as trimming operation conpletion, and issue the stacker cover open alarm to
its host copier. If, however, the finisher delivers a booklet while the trimmer is at rest, the
machine will issue an error.)
