Setup Procedures

Follow the procedure below to execute Express Setup.
CHECK:
To execute Express Setup with a parameter file, one empty 1.44MB formatted floppy disk
is required. Prepare an empty floppy disk in advance.
When you reinstall OS, you can skip entering the parameter in the Wizard form, by reading
the parameter file that has been saved.
IMPORTANT:
In case of changing the system configuration, update the system (page 6-8).
1. Turn on NEC Express5800/ft series. Insert the startup CD-ROM into the DVD-ROM drive,
and restart it.
2. When the OS that can be started has been already installed on the hard disk, press the Enter
key while the message, "Press any key to boot from CD...," is displayed.
You do not need to perform this operation if the OS that can be started does not exist.
3. If the next message is displayed, insert the
NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM into
the DVD-ROM drive, and select [OK].
4. If the license agreement screen is
displayed, read the license agreement
packed with this product carefully.
Select [Yes] to agree. Select [No] not to
agree.
IMPORTANT:
If you do not agree with the license agreement, the Express setup will finish, and Windows
server 2003 will not be installed.
CHECK:
If a partition already exists on the hard
disk, the next message is displayed. If
you click [OK], the partition will be
deleted and the setup will be continued. If you click [Cancel], the setup will be cancelled.
