Charging the Battery

Test a nd,if necessary, recharge the batteryafterthe ridingmowerhasbeen
storedfora periodof time.

Servicing Electrical System
Afuseisinstalledto protectthe ridingmower'selectrical s ystem from damage
caused byexcessive a mperage. Alwaysuse the samecapacityfusefor replacement.
If the electrical s ystem doesnot function,check fora blownfuse.
If youhavearecurringproblemwith blownfuses, c all 1-800-659-5917 t o schedule
electrical s ystem service from Sears Parts& Repair.
Relaysand Switches
There areseveral s afetyswitches inthe electrical s ystem. I fa functionof the safety
interlocksystem described earlieris notfunctioningproperly, c all 1-800-659-5917
to havethe electrical s ystem checked bySears Parts & Repair.
Usingthe DeckWashSystem
Whenusing the deckwashsystem,neverengagethe deckfrom any
positionother than the operator'sseat of the riding mower.Donot usean
assistantor engagedeckin the presence of any bystanders.
1.
Attachthe nozzle adapterto astandard gardenhoseconnected to awater
supply.
2.
Movethe ridingmowertoan areawithin reach of the hosewherethe
dispersal of wetgrassclippingsisnot objectionable to you.Disengage t he
PTO, engage the parkingbrake,andstopthe engine.
Pullbackthe lockcollarof the nozzle adapterandpushthe adapterontothe
deckwashnozzleatthe left endof the mowerdeck.Release the lockcollar
to lockthe adapteronthe nozzle.Refer t o Figure 24.

Turnonthe watersupply.
5.
From the ridingmoweroperator's seat,start the engine andengage the PTO.
Allowto runasneeded. D isengage t he PTO andstopthe engine.

Turnoffthe watersupply.
7.
Pullback the lockcollarof the nozzle adapterto disconnect theadapterfrom
the nozzle.
(:leaning the Spindle Pulleys
Once a monthremove the beltcovers to remove anyaccumulation o f grassclippings
from aroundthe spindlepulleys andV-belt.Clean moreoftenwhenmowingtall,
dry grass.
