Transmission Bypass Rods
Thetransmission b ypass rods(oneforeachthe RHandLHtransmission) arelocated
beneath the frameplatform,just insideeachrearwheel.
Whenengaged, the two rodsopena bypass w ithin the hydrostatic transmissions,
whichallowsthe ridingmowerto bepushed shortdistances byhand.Referto the
Assembly s ectionfor instructions onusingthe bypass f eature.
Theletters"LO"followedbythe letters"OIL", t henfollowedbythe meter's
accumulated timewill indicatethe tractorislow onoil.Stopthe tractor
immediately andcheck the engineoil levelasinstructed inthis Owner's Manual.
Low Battery

Atstartup, t he battery voltage isbrieflydisplayed t hen
changes t oaccumulated hours. T he letters"LO" w ill display
followed bytheletters"BATT" andthenfollowedyby t hemeter's accumlulated time.
"LO/BATT/TIME"
isdisplayed o nthe LCD whenthevoltage drops below11.5 volts.When
thisoccurs, thebatteryisinneedofacharge or theengine's c harging s ystem isnot
generating s ufficient amperage. Charge t hebatteryasinstructed i ntheService s ection of
thismanual or have thecharging system checked b yyourlocal s ervice d ealer.

after the meterreachges 2 5 hours.This air filter service mindertime intervalwill be
every25hours.Onintervallsthatarecommon with oil service, t he oil message w ill
bediplayedfirst followedbythe airfilter message.
Nevertow your riding mower.Towingthe riding mowerwith the rear
wheels onthe ground maycauseseveredamage to the transmissions.
FuelTankCap
Thefueltank capis located nearthe middleof the LHconsole. Turnthe fill capto
remove. T he fuelcapistetheredtothe tractorto prevent i ts loss. D onotattemptto
remove thecapfromthe tractor.Filltankto the bottomofthe fillerneck,allowing
somespace inthetankforfuel expansion. Donot overfill t he tank.
Push the capdownwardon the fuel tankfill neckandturn clockwise until it clicksto
tighten.Alwaysre-installthefuel captightly ontothe fuel tankafter removing
Neverfill the fuel tank when the engine isrunning. If the engine ishot
from recently running, allow to coolfor several m inutes beforerefueling.
Highly flammable gasolinesplashingontoa hotenginecould causeafire.
LCD ServiceMinder & Hour Meter
Whenthe ignitionkeyisrotatedout of the STOP p ositionbut not into the START
position, t he LCD Service MinderandHourMeterwill brieflydisplythe battery
voltage,followedbythe tractor'saccumulated hours.
NOTE: Hours of tractoroperation arerecorded anytime the ignitionkeyis
rotatedout of the STOP p osition,regardless o f whetherthe engineisstarted.
TheLCD Service Minderwill remindthe operator of maintenance i ntervals for
changing the engineoil,air filter service, l ow engineandlowbatterywarnings.
Change
Oil
TheLCD will display the letters"CHG", followedbythe letters"OIL", f ollowedbythe
letters"SOON", thenfinallyfollowedbythe meter's accumulated time. "CHG/OIL/
SOON/TIME" will alternateonthe display for 7minutesafterthe meterreaches 5 0
hours.Thisoil service minderintervall will occurevery50hours.Before the interval
expires, c hange the engine oil asinstructed in the Maintenance s ectionof this
Operator's M anual.
Throttle/ChokeControl
Thethrottle/choke controlis located onthe LHconsole to the left of the
operator's seat.When setin agivenposition, a uniformenginespeed will
bemaintained.
Push the throttle/choke controlhandleforwardto increase the engine
speed. T heridingmowerisdesigned tooperatewith the throttle/choke
controlinthe FAST_ positionwhenthe ridingmowerisbeingdriven
andthe mowerdeckisengaged.
Pullthe throtNe/choke c ontrolhandlerearward to decrease t he engine
speed.
Whenstartingthe engine,pushthecontrolhandlefullyforwardinto the
CHOKENposition.

Afterstartingandwarmingtheengine,movethe controlhandle rearwarduntil you
feel it movepastthe chokedetent.

LHdrivecontrollevers movedfullyoutwardinthe neutralposition.
Keep all shields in place.Keep awayfrom movingparts.
NORIDERS! Keep all people andpetsasafedistance away.Lookbehindand
downto bothsides of the ridingmowerbefore andwhilebacking up.
DO NOT directthe mowerdischarge a t people.
Avoidslopes wherepossible. Neveroperate onslopesgreaterthan15 °.
Slopes with agreaterinclinepresent d angerous o peratingconditions.Riding
mowerscanbe rolledover.
