I continue to receive every few days tamper alarms on my wireless Risco Wisdom alarm system. The alarm system is 18 years old. I have replaced the batteries in the window and door sensors. What else may I do to fix this occurrence? It has become so annoying I **** ready to decommission the system. How do I decommission the system? Thank youl.

To fix tamper alarms on an 18-year-old Risco WisDom alarm system, follow these steps:

1. Check Tamper Switches – Ensure that the tamper switches on the box and wall mounting are properly engaged and not loose.

2. Secure the Enclosure – Make sure the front panel is correctly snapped onto the back panel and that the tamper spring is properly positioned.

3. Inspect Wiring – Verify that all wiring connections are secure and that no loose connections are triggering the tamper alarm.

4. Battery Check – If the system has a low battery, replace it with the same type, ensuring correct polarity, and wait up to 15 minutes for the fault to clear.

5. Confirm Supervision Settings – If using wireless accessories, check that the supervision time is correctly set to avoid false tamper alarms.

6. Reset the System – After making adjustments, reset the system and check if the tamper alarm persists.

7. Check for Physical Damage – Given the system’s age, inspect for worn-out components or corrosion that may affect tamper switches.

If the problem continues, professional servicing may be required.
