POWER STEERING FLUID
LEVEL
The power steering fluid level should be
checked regularly.
To check the power steering fluid level,
be sure the ignition is "OFF", then
check to make certain that the power
steering fluid level is between the "MAX"
and "MIN" level markings on the fluid
reservoir.
DO-IT-YOURSELF MAINTENANCE
NOTE:
Grinding noise from the power
steering pump may be heard imme-
diately after the engine is started in
extremely cold conditions (below -
20°C). If the noise stops during warm
up, there is no abnormal function in
the system. It is due to a power
steering fluid characteristic in ex-
tremely cold conditions.
Recommended Fluid
Use PSF-3 type fluid
HTB163
NOTE:
Do not start the engine when the
power steering oil reservoir is
empty.

Your 2008 Hyundai Getz may not be starting even after installing a new battery due to an issue with the immobilizer system. The immobilizer light may be flashing five times, indicating a malfunction. A common problem is a faulty connection in the immobilizer ring wiring, specifically the black and white wires leading into the loom. High resistance in the plug can prevent the immobilizer from recognizing the key. A possible fix is to bypass the faulty plug by soldering the wires directly. Additionally, trying to insert and remove the key multiple times or jiggling it slightly may help temporarily.

Parasitic consume on fuse "POWER CONN & R/LP". I have 0.2 amp consumption on this fuse. I have uninstalled all interior lamps. removed radio, but there is still 0.2 consumption ???? Brand new battery wil die in 2-3 days. Brand new alternator

A 0.2 amp parasitic draw on the "POWER CONN & R/LP" fuse in a Hyundai Getz could be caused by one of the components it protects: the room lamp, audio system, or instrument cluster. Potential causes include:

1. Room Lamp – A faulty or partially stuck switch may keep the lamp circuit active.
2. Audio System – Some audio units retain memory or standby power, but a malfunction could increase current draw.
3. Instrument Cluster – A stuck relay or internal fault in the cluster could cause continuous power consumption.

To diagnose, disconnect each component one at a time and monitor the current draw to identify the source.
