    Install 9V Battery 3 Install 9V Battery IMPORTANT: Before installing your smoke alarm the battery must be removed from the alarm and the protective ribbon covering the terminals on the battery should be removed. The battery should then be refitted. The battery compartment has been designed to prevent the battery being inserted incorrectly.
