Thechutedean-outtoolis conveniently f astened tothe rearof the augerhousing

with a mountingclip.Should snowandicebecomelodgedinthe chuteassembly
duringoperation, p roceed asfollowsto safely cleanthe chuteassembly a ndchute
opening:
1.
Release b oththe AugerControl a ndthe DriveControl.
2.
Stopthe enginebyremoving the key.
3.
Remove t he clean-out t ool from theclip whichsecures it to the rearof the
augerhousing.
4.
Use the shoveFshaped endofthe clean-outtool todislodge andscoop any
snowandicewhichhasformedinandnearthe chuteassembly.
5.
Refasten t he clean-out t ool to the mountingclip onthe rearof the auger
housing, r einsert t he keyandstart the snowthrower'sengine.
6.
Whilestandinginthe operator's position(behindthesnowthrower),engage
the augercontrolfora fewseconds t o clearanyremainingsnowandicefrom
the chuteassembly.

Oil Fill
Remove o il capto addoil. Referto the Maintenance & Service s ectionfor checking
andaddingoil instructions.
Gasoline Cap
Remove g ascapto addfuel. Unitrunson regular g as.
NOTE: Thisunit mayincludeafuel plug,whichisonlyusedduringassembly t o keep
dirt anddebrisout offuel tank. Discard the fuel plugbeforefilling the fueltank.
ThrottleControl
Read,understand,andfollow all instructionsand warnings onthe machine
and inthis manualbeforeoperating.
CheckEngineOil
Theunit wasshipped with oil inthe engine.Check o il levelbefore eachoperationto
ensureadequate oil inthe engine.Forfurther instructions, r eferto the Maintenance
& Service s ectionof thismanual.

stopped.
Remove t he oil filler cap/dipstkkandwipethe dipstick clean.
Insertthe cap/dipstick into theoil filler neck,turn thecap1/4turn until fully
seated.
flOTE: O nsomeengines, a threaded cap/dipstick mayexistinstead ofa 1/4
turn capasdescribed a bove.Inthisinstance do not fullytighten the capto
check the oil level.Simply restthe caponthe threads to check for properoil
level.
Remove t he oil filler cap/dipstick. I fthe levelislow,slowlyaddoil (5W-30,
with a minimumclassification of SF/SG) until oil levelregisters betweenhigh
(H)andlow (L).
flOTE: D onot overfill.Overfillingwithoil mayresultinenginesmoking,hard
startingor sparkplugfouling.
Replace a ndtightencap/dipstick firmly before startingengine.
Thethrottlecontrolislocated on the engine.It regulates the speed of the engine
andwill shutoff theenginewhen placed in the Stop
position.
