SuperScript 1800 Series — User's Guide
Explanation
This menu item lets you
reduce power usage when
the printer is idle. The
PWR SAVE setting
determines the length of
time (in minutes) the
printer waits after a job is
printed before it goes to a
reduced power state.
This menu item controls
how the printer behaves
when it notices a paper
mismatch or
communication error.
Paper Mismatch:
If ON is selected, the print
job will continue after a
60-second delay, even if
the wrong paper size is
used. If OFF is selected,
the print job will not
continue until the correct
paper size is loaded. Only
Tray 2 or Tray 3 can
determine what paper size
is loaded.
Communication Stops:
If ON is selected, the print
job will not be completed,
and an error page will be
printed for PCL6 and
PostScript jobs (not PCL5).
If OFF is selected, the
printer will behave as if it
is processing the job, but
nothing is printed. In this
case, cancel the job and
then re-send it.

Explanation
This menu item helps
conserve the toner
cartridge by controlling
how much toner the
printer uses for a print job.
Select OFF if toner
conservation is not a
concern.
note:
Graphic
images will print
lighter than text.
When JAM RECV is set to
ON, the printer keeps the
printed page in memory
until the printer signals
that the page has
successfully exited the
printer. The printer then
reprints the jammed page.
When JAM RECV is set to
OFF, the printer does not
reprint a page that has
been jammed after all the
image has been drawn on
the page.
This setting determines
whether the printer
continues printing after
the printer detects that the
toner is low.
If the toner is low and
TONER LO is set to STOP,
press the Continue button
to print.
