YOUR W ARRANT'/RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
The California A ir ResourcesBoardand MTD Consumer G roupInc. are pleased to explainthe evaporative emission control s ystemwarrantyonyour 2007 lawn
mower. In California, newlawn mowermustbe designed, builtand equipped to meetthe State'sstringent anti-smogstandards. M TD Consumer GroupInc. must
warranttheEECS onyour fawnmowerfor theperiodof time listedbelowprovidedthere has beennoabuse, neglect o r impropermaintenance ofyour lawnmower.
Your EECS may include partssuch asthecarburetor, fueFinjeetion system,the ignition system, catalytic converter, fuel tanks, fuel lines,fuel caps,valves,
canisters, filters, vapor hoses,clamps,connectors, andotherassociatedemissi0n-related components.
Where a warrantable conditionexists, MTD ConsumerGroupInc. will repairyour lawn mowerat no costto you includingdiagnosis,parts andlabor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporative emission control system is warranted fortwo years, I fanyevaporative emission-refuted partonyourequipment is defective, thepartwillbe
repaired or replaced byMTDConsumer Group Inc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the lawn mower owner, y ou are responsible f or performance o f the requiredmaintenancefistedin your owner's manual.MTD Consumer G roupInc. recom-
mendsthat you retainall receiptscoveringmaintenanceonyour lawn mower,butMTD ConsumerGroupinc. cannotdenywarranty solely for the lackof receipts.
Asthe lawnmower owner,you should howeverbe awarethat MTD Consumer G roupInc. maydenyyou warranty coverage ifyour lawnmower or a part has failed
due to abuse,neglect,or improper maintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
You are responsiblefor presenting your lawn mower to MTD Consumer G roupInc's distribution centeror service centeras soonas the problem exists.The war-
runty repairs shouldbe completed in a reasonableamountof time, not to exceed30 days. If you have a question regardingyour warranty coverage,you should
contact the MTD Consumer G roup Inc. ServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTD Consumer G roupInc. warrantsto theultimatepurchaserand each subsequent purchaserthat thefawn mower is: Designed, built and equippedso as to
Conform withall applicableregulations; andfree from defectsin materialsandworkmanship t hat causethe lailure of a warranted part to be identicalin el! material
respectsto that part as describedin MTD Consumer G roup Inc's applicationforcertification.
The warrantyperiodbeginson the datethe lawn moweris deliveredto an ultimate purchaser o r first placedinto service. The warranty period is two years.
Subjectto certain conditions and exclusionsas stated below,the warranty on emission-relatedparts is asfollows:
1. Any warranted part that is not scheduledfor replacement as requiredmaintenanceinthe written instructions suppfied,is warranted for the warrantyperiod
statedabove. I1the part fails during the periodof warranty coverage,the partwill be repaired or replacedby MTD ConsumerGroupInc. according to subsec-
tion (4) below.Any such part repairedor replacedunder warrantywill be warranted forthe remainder ofthe period.
2. Any warranted part that is scheduledonly for regular inspection in thewritteninstructionssupplied is warranted for the warranty periodstatedabove.Any
such partrepairedor replacedunder warrantywill bewarranted for the remainingwarranty period.
3. Any warranted partthat is scheduledfor replacement a s required maintenancein the writteninstructions supplied is warrantedfor the periodof time before
the first scheduledreplacementdatefor that part. If thepart fails beforethe first scheduledreplacement, t he part wiltbe repairedor replacedby MTDCon-
sumerGroupinc.accordingto subsection(4) below.Any such partrepairedor replaced under warranty will bewarranted for the remainderof the periodprior
to thefirst scheduled replacement p ointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacement o f any warranted part underthe warranty provisionshereinmustbe performed at a warrantystationat nochargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisions herein,warrantyservicesor repairswill be provided at all of our distribution centers that are franchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. The lawn mower owner will not be charged for diagnosticlabor that is directly associated with diagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwarrantedpart, pro-
videdthat such diagnosticwork is performed at a warranty station.
7. MTD ConsumerGroupInc. is liablefor damagesto other engineor equipmentcomponents proximately c ausedbya failure underwarrantyof any warranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmower warranty period statedabove,MTD ConsumerGroupInc.will maintaina supply ofwarranted partssufficientto meetthe expected
demandfor such parts.
9. Any replacementpart may be used in the performance o f any warrantymaintenance or repairsand must be providedwithoutchargeto theowner.Such use
will not reducethe warrantyobligations of MTD ConsumerGroup Inc.
10. Add-on or modified partsthatare not exemptedbythe Air ResourcesBoardmay notbe used.Theuse ot any non-exempted add-on or modified partsby the
ultimatepurchaser w ill begrounds for disallowing a warranty claim.MTD ConsumerGroupInc. will not be liableto warrantfailuresof warranted parts caused
by the use of a non-exemptedadd-on or modified part.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepairor replacement o f any warrantedpart otherwise eligible for warrantycoveragemay be excludedfrom suchwarranty coverageif MTDConsumerGroup
Inc. demonstratesthat thelawn mower has beenabused,neglected,or improperly maintained,and that such abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenance was the
direct causeof the needfor repairor replacementof the part. That notwithstanding, any adjustment of a componentthat has a factory installed,and properly
operating, adjustmentlimiting device is still eligib]efor warranty coverage.Thefollowing emissionwarranty partslist arecovered:FuelLine, FuelLine Clamps.
