SYMPTOM
The MCX-1000 does not record
or playback from the analog input
jacks.
You cannot change from external
input to another playback option.
Playback changes from the
external input for no apparent
reason.
The MCX-1000 does not control
the AV receiver correctly.
The correct time is not displayed.
There is a gap between MP3
songs.
There is no sound from analog
inputs.
Playback is delayed or starts at
the wrong place on the CD.
The speakers emit a humming
sound.
The remote control does not
appear to function correctly.
Functioning of your TV is
impaired.
Playback on the MCX-A10 skips
or pauses.
CAUSE
The analog level is set too low.
The MusicCAST is recording from an
external input.
Another operator is changing sources.
You are using a straight-type RS-232C
cable.
You have not set the MCX-1000 to
change AV receiver settings.
The AV receiver 6 channel input
parameter, is set to "ON".
The power cord has been disconnected
from an AC outlet for more than 1
minute.
MP3 songs are encoded individually.
The external component is not
connected correctly.
The ANALOG REC LEVEL on the
MusicCAST server front panel is too
low.
The CD is scratched or dirty.
Connect your components correctly.
The batteries in the remote control are
exhausted.
You are attempting to operate the
MCX-1000 from too far away.
You are not aiming the remote
controller at the MCX-1000.
Bright light (such as sunlight or light
from a fluorescent lamp) is striking the
remote control sensor.
The television is using an indoor
antenna.
The current state of your network
(wired or wireless) is preventing
smooth playback.

REMEDY
→ Use the level adjustment dial on the
front panel of the MCX-1000 to set
an appropriate recording level.
→ Stop recording from an external
source.
→ Stop the operator from changing
sources.
→ Use a cross-type RS-232C cable.
→ Set The MusicCAST server to
change AV receiver settings.
→ Set the AV receiver 6 channel setting
to "OFF".
→ The MCX-1000 holds backup data
for no longer than 1 minute after the
power cord is disconnected from the
AC outlet. Disconnecting it for
longer than this will reset the internal
clock. Reconnect the power cord
within one minute of disconnection.
This is not a defect in the MCX-1000.
Correct the component correctly.
Increase the ANALOG REC LEVEL.
Check the CD, and replace it if
necessary.
Connect the stereo pin cables firmly.
Replace both batteries with new ones.
Use the remote control within a 60
degree arc, no further than 6 meters
from the MCX-1000.
Relocate the MCX-1000 so that no
bright light strikes the remote control
sensor.
Use an outdoor antenna with your
television.
Try stopping playback and/or
recording.
