12 Select songs to add to the playlist.
• Using artist names to select songs.
Select "Artists", choose an artist and album, choose a song,
then press SELECT to add it to the playlist.The songs you
select appear on the left of the on-screen display. Select an
artist or album, move the cursor to "add" and press SELECT
to add all songs from the artist or album to the playlist.
• Using album names to select songs.
Select "Albums", choose an album, and then select a song.
The songs you select appear on the left of the on-screen
display, in the order you select them in. If you select an
album, move the cursor to "add", and press SELECT at this
stage, the MusicCAST server adds the complete album to the
playlist.
• Using genres to select songs.
Select "Genres", choose an album, select a song, then press
SELECT to add it to the playlist. The songs you select
appear on the left of the on-screen display. Select a genre or
album, move the cursor to "add", and press SELECT to add
all songs from the genre or album to the playlist.
• Using song names to select songs.
Select "All Songs", and then select a song. The songs you
select appear on the left of the on-screen display, in the order
you select them in.
• Using playlists to select links.
Select "Playlists", select a collection and playlist, choose a
song, then press SELECT to add it to the playlist. Select a
playlist, move the cursor to "add", and press SELECT to add
all songs from the playlist to the new playlist.
• Using the song statistics list to select songs.
Select "Song Statistics", select a category, choose an album
if necessary, choose a song, then press SELECT to add it to
the playlist. Select an album, move the cursor to "add", and
press SELECT to add all songs from the album to the
playlist.
■ Sample song selection procedure (using an
artist name to select a song)
1 In step 11 of the procedure above, use
move the cursor to "Artists" and press SELECT.
A list of the artists stored in the MusicCAST server appears on
the on-screen display. If you select an artist, move the cursor to
"add", and press SELECT, the MusicCAST server adds all
songs from the artist to the playlist.
2 Use
/
to move the cursor to the artist you
want to select, and press SELECT.
A list of the albums assigned to this artist in the MusicCAST
server appears on the on-screen display. If you select an album,
move the cursor to "add", and press SELECT at this stage, the
MusicCAST server adds the complete album to the playlist.
3 Use
/
to move the cursor to the album you
want to select and press SELECT.
A list of the songs assigned to the selected album appears on
the on-screen display.
4 Use
/
to select a song, then move the cursor
to "add", and press SELECT.
The MusicCAST server adds the selected song to the playlist.
If you select "quit" and press SELECT at any stage in this
process the display returns to the Playlist screen.
If you select "up" and press SELECT, the display returns to the
previous screen.
13 Repeat step 11 until you finish creating the
playlist.

Deleting playlists and playlist items

1 To delete a playlist, display the Playlist screen
on the on-screen display (step 4 in the "Making
playlists", page 75). To delete a playlist item,
display the playlist contents screen on the
on-screen display (step 9 in the "Making
playlists" procedure, page 76).
2 Use
/
to select an item to delete.
3 Press SUB MENU.
The Sub Menu appears on the on-screen display.
4 Use
/
to move the cursor to "Delete" and
press SELECT.
The delete prompt appears in the Sub Menu.
5 Use
/
to move the cursor to "OK" and press
SELECT.
The MusicCAST server deletes the item.
Move the cursor to "quit" to return to the Playlist screen
without deleting the item.
NOTE
Deleting an item from a playlist does not delete the item from
the MusicCAST server hard disk drive.
Changing playlist and collection
names

1 Carry out steps 1-3 (to change a collection
name) or steps 1-4 (to change a playlist name)
from the "Making playlists" procedure on
page 75.
2 Press SUBMENU.
The Sub Menu appears.
3 Use
/
to move the cursor to "Edit title" and
press SELECT.
The name entry screen appears.
4 Use
/ / / to move select characters, and
enter an appropriate name.
