Derived from constants in
The value determines which operations the driver can perform with the
attached device by using a unique value for each feature and then
adding them together to form the options value:
Device supports variable length records.
0x001
Device can backspace over files (as in the
0x008
'
' option).
mt bsf
Device supports backspace record (as in
0x010
'
').
mt bsr
Device requires a long time-out period for
0x020
erase functions.
Device will automatically determine the
0x040
tape density.
Device knows when end of data has been
0x0200
reached.
Device driver is unloadable.
0x0400
Time-outs five times longer than normal.
0x1000
Driver buffers write requests and
0x4000
pre-acknowledges success to application.
Variable record size not limited to 64 KB.
0x8000
Device determines which of the two mode
0x10000
pages the device supports for selecting or
deselecting compression.
There is one density code following in the parameter list.
on Solaris 9, 10 (and 8 with the latest st patch)
/usr/include/sys/mtio.h
