SAFEGUARD
Electrical energy can perform many useful functions. This unit has been engineered and manufactured to assure
your personal safety. Improper use can result in potential electrical shock or fire hazards. In order not to defeat
the safeguards, observe the following instructions for its installation, use and servicing.

FEATURES
1. Unitorque motor with quartz lock servo
A quartz lock servo feature has been incorporated in the Unitorque motor which is characterized by a torque which
is generated in principle uniformly and by smooth constant speed rotation. As a result, a superb speed accuracy
and high signal-to-noise ratio are produced.
2. Manual priority and two-motor fully automatic mechanism
A special DC motor is adopted to drive the tonearm and this is accompanied by a fully automatic mechanism which
has absolutely no effect on the rotation of the platter. During manual operations, however, there is no interference
from this fully automatic mechanism.
3. Electronic return detection mechanism (PHOTO-SENSOR
SYSTEM)
A no-contact electronic system is used for the automatic return detection upon completion of disk play. This
means that no lateral force is aplied to the stylus tip and that there is no ensuing distortion.
4. Hitachi's own HARC (Hitachi Anti-Resonance Compound)
By employing the HARC compound with its high specific gravity for the cabinet, undesirable vibration is kept down
to the bare minimum and acoustic feedback is improved.
5. Highly sensitive straight tonearm with gimbal supoort
A gimbal support system is adopted for the bearing construction of the tonearm for reduced rotational resistance
and superb traceability with a light tracking force performance. In addition, by employing a low-mass straight
tonearm, the grooves are traced steadily. This feature combines to suppress the vibrations which impair sound
quality.
. Front panel operation with soft fingertip touch switches
. Viscous damped arm lifter never damages stylus tip
. Easy-to-operate ONE-TOUCH
SYSTEM
Once the unit is combined with the HA-M70 amplifier which is compatible with the ONE-TOUCH
SYSTEM, the
amplifier's function is automatically switched to PHONO when the unit is operated.
9. Remote controlled operation
By combining the optional RM-1000 remote control center and the IRB-1000 remote control unit, it is possible to
Operate the auto-in, auto-cut and temporary play suspension functions by remote control.
