FAQs
Dustin won't turn on no matter
what I do.
If Dustin is not responding to his buttons, then
his battery has likely drained too low for him to
operate. Place Dustin on his charging station
and allow him to fully charge. When placing
him on the station, ensure perfect alignment
between the charging nodes on Dustin and
his charging station's.
I want to access Dustin's latest
features & keep him up-to-date
Check the App Store/Google Play Store and
update the bObsweep app to access the latest
features released on the bObsweep app.
Check the Bot Settings page on the bObsweep
app and update Dustin's software to access
the latest version of Dustin's operating system.
Dustin's not picking up as
much as he used to.
Dustin will have trouble cleaning if his dustbin
is clogged, or his main brush is clogged or
tangled with hair. Remove Dustin's main
brush and clean it thoroughly from end to
end. Remove and open the dustbin, and
remove any large debris from Dustin's dustbin
container to ensure smooth flow of air.
How do I know that Dustin
is fully charged and ready to
clean?
When Dustin is charging, the charging
indicator blinks slowly. When Dustin is fully
charged and ready to clean, the charging
indicator shines white.
Dustin's having trouble finding
his station.
Make sure Dustin's charging bed is installed.
You may need to relocate Dustin's station to a
more accessible area. Make sure the station
is placed in a centralized area against the wall,
and on a hard, flat surface away from stairs
or edges, direct sunlight, mirrors or relfective
surfaces, with plenty of open space around it.
Can I pick Dustin up?
Picking up and moving Dustin during a
cleaning session is not recommended, as it
can affect his current cleaning cycle/map.
Furthermore, it's best not to relocate Dustin's
charging station once he has mapped his
environment.

Yes, bObsweep Dustin can operate manually without a WiFi connection. You can start it by pressing the GO button on the vacuum itself. However, without WiFi, it will not be able to find the dustbin station for charging and emptying, and you cannot use the app for mapping or remote operation.

Can a Dustin Bobsweep vacuum at night without lights on?

The bObsweep Dustin vacuum uses SLAM LiDAR for navigation, which allows it to operate in the dark without needing lights. However, it should not be exposed to direct sunlight or infrared light, as these may interfere with its sensors.

My Dustin will not clean itself. The machine docks at it's station and the vacuum powers up however the debris remains in the machine. At first it appeared to be clogged, I manually emptied it ensuring there was no remaining debris. However the issue still persists. I've reinstalled the vacuum bag and notice there is never debris at all inside the vacuum bag. I continue to manually clean the bot. Please note that the vacuum does power up and sound as if it's working. Please assist in why the vacuum is not sucking out the dirt.

The bObsweep Dustin vacuum may not be effectively removing debris due to its poor debris pickup performance, which causes it to fling around lightweight debris rather than collecting it efficiently. Additionally, its self-emptying function relies on a base station that only sucks out debris into an internal dirtbag. If the dirtbag is full or clogged, the vacuum may not be able to empty itself properly.
