1-8. Upgrading the Software

The ROM (IC117, IC118 and IC805 on the AT-173A
board) version can be upgraded using the Memory Stick.
For upgrading the software, follow the procedure shown
below.

1-8-1. Upgrading the MAIN CPU

Preparation
Create "/MSSONY/PRO/CAMERA/F35" folder in the
Memory Stick, and store the following files under F35.
. ROM data for the MAIN CPU
f35.rom
boot.rom
For getting the MAIN CPU ROM data, contact your local
Sony Sales Office/Service Center.
Procedure
1. Insert the prepared Memory Stick into the camera unit.
2. Press the PAGE button on the camera unit or the
assistant panel for at least five seconds to display the
page on/off screen of the sub-display. Keep pressing
the PAGE button.
3. Press the CANCEL button while pressing the PAGE
button. The previous page appears again on the sub-
display.
4. Press the SET button and the MENU SEL/ENTER dial
for at least five seconds while pressing the PAGE
button.
5. When the screen of the sub-display is switched to the
software upgrade page, release these buttons and dial.
6. Move the cursor to "1.MainCPU" with the SET button,
and press the MENU SEL/ENTER dial.
7. When the version you want to upgrade is displayed in
"NEXT" on the sub-display, press the MENU SEL/
ENTER dial to start version upgrade.
8. The upgrade progress appears on the sub-display.
When "COMPLETED" appears finally, turn off and
on the power.
9. Check that the MAIN CPU version is correct in
DIAGNOSIS (page ROM VERSION) of the VF menu.

Preparation
Create "/MSSONY/PRO/CAMERA/F35" folder in the
Memory Stick, and store the following files under F35.
. ROM data for the NET CPU
net_boot.rom
net_hifboot.rom
net_loader.rom
net_main00.rom
For getting the NET CPU ROM data, contact your local
Sony Sales Office/Service Center.
Procedure
1. Insert the prepared Memory Stick into the camera unit.
2. Press the PAGE button on the camera unit or the
assistant panel for at least five seconds to display the
page on/off screen of the sub-display. Keep pressing
the PAGE button.
3. Press the CANCEL button while pressing the PAGE
button. The previous page appears again on the sub-
display.
4. Press the SET button and the MENU SEL/ENTER dial
for at least five seconds while pressing the PAGE
button.
5. When the screen of the sub-display is switched to the
software upgrade page, release these buttons and dial.
6. Move the cursor to "2.NetCPU" with the SET button,
and press the MENU SEL/ENTER dial.
7. When the version you want to upgrade is displayed in
"NEXT" on the sub-display, press the MENU SEL/
ENTER dial to start version upgrade.
8. The upgrade progress appears on the sub-display.
When "COMPLETED" appears finally, turn off and
on the power.
9. Check that the NET CPU version is correct in DIAG-
NOSIS (page ROM VERSION) of the VF menu.
