Northstar 941, 951, and 952 units running software version
3.18 or higher has a new option for differential operations (on
the RECEIVER OPTIONS screen). The former DGPS OPERATION
field is now called DIFFERENTIAL OPERATIONS. This field
formerly supplied two options, "ON" and "OFF," but now
provides four options to accommodate WAAS capability:
DISABLED - to use no differential corrections (similar to the
former "OFF")
RADIOBEACON - to use radiobeacon differential signals
(similar to the former "ON") if the unit has an internal
beacon receiver or is connected to an external one.
WAAS - to use WAAS differential corrections
AUTO - to use WAAS differential corrections preferentially;
that is, the 941/951/952 will automatically switch to to
radiobeacon differential corrections if WAAS becomes
unavailable or is less accurate and if the 941/951/952
contains an internal beacon receiver or is connected to an
external one.
Software version 3.18 or higher also features a remote
power-on option that automatically powers on the 2201—after
you've properly connected it to the 941/951/952.
NOTE:
If you want to stop using the 2201 for external
