3.23 TRX

3.23.1 Functions

The TRX adopts a modularized structure. It includes base band processing unit and RF
processing unit. The TRX receives signals from an MS via the antenna, and then demodulates
the signals received into signaling information and voice information for sending forward.
The downlink signaling information and voice information are sent to the antenna after being
processed by the TRX, and then are transmitted to the MS.
The TRX also receives various management and configuration information from TMU, and
reports its own status and alarm information to TMU.
The TRX supports multiple frequency bands, including the GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900,
GSM850, EGSM, and RGSM.
