GS4000 Quick Start Guide, Revision 3
Procedure 4.
Attach an interface cable.
Attach an interface cable to an interface port.
Procedure 5.
Power on GS4000-320E (DC).
Set all the switches of GS4000-320E (DC) to ON. GS4000-320E (DC) has a breaker on its backside.
NOTE
When you use a redundant power supply, set all the switches of GS4000-320E (DC) to ON from
bottom up.
If you do not power on the device in the above-mentioned order, there is the possibility that the
BCU1 is unconditionally started up as the active. In such a case, restart the device after
powering off all the switches attached to it.
NOTE
When powering ON, set all the breaker of GS4000 to "ON" within an 8 seconds time period.
Otherwise, the basic control unit (BCU) might detect a conflict between the configuration and the
actual number of active power sources.
NOTE
When you use a redundant basic control unit (BCU), one BCU works as the active and the other
works as the standby. Regarding the detail information related to the active or standby BCU,
refer to the GS4000 Application Guide Vol.2 3. Redundant Configuration.
Procedure 6.
Check LED.
When BCU0 LED of the front panel of GS4000 is lit in green, it means that GS4000 is started up.
Regarding the process GS4000 goes through until it starts up, see the section "3.2 Other Preparations".
NOTE
When the BCU0 LED status is Red (Blinking) or the STATUS CODE display shows numbers 16,
20 or 22, the GS4000 is signaling a problem. Regarding troubleshooting, see Chapter 7:
Troubleshooting.
For other problems which cannot be solved there, see the manuals "GS4000・GS3000 Software
Manual, Operations - Device Management Overview" and "GS4000・GS3000 Software Manual,
Message Log Reference"
