Removing and Installing

Removing
Troubleshooting chart - see
"Standard Repairs, Trouble-
shooting" handbook.
- Remove the drive tube -
see 10.2.
- Remove the fuel tank -
•
Take out screws at front end of
shroud.
•
Take out screws at rear end of
shroud.

•
Lift away the shroud.
•
Disconnect the short circuit
wire (1) and ground wire (2)
from the ignition module.

Remove throttle cable (1) nipple
from slotted pin (2) on throttle
lever.
•
Take throttle cable out of
tensioner.

Take out the screws (1).
- Remove the engine housing.
Note: Remove screw (2) only if
damaged. Tighten down new
screw to 4.5 Nm (3.3 lbf.ft).
- Pull off the spark plug boot.
- Unscrew the spark plug.
•
Fit locking strip (1)
4221 893 5900 in spark plug
hole.
