The system status lights are shown in the following illustration,
and the function of each light is explained.

E-mail indicates when you have e-mail waiting to be read.
Note: This light works only with POP3 Internet services.
The light does not work with proprietary Internet services
such as AOL.

Stand By indicates the computer is in Stand By mode.

Num Lock indicates that you can use the numeric key pad to
type numbers.

Caps Lock indicates all text typed will appear as capital letters.

Scroll Lock indicates when the scroll-lock function is engaged,
enabling you to scroll through a document without moving the
cursor.
