Safety Guidelines for Hazardous Locations The cRIO-9030 is suitable for use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D, T4 hazardous locations; Class I, Zone 2, AEx nA IIC T4 and Ex nA IIC T4 hazardous locations; and nonhazardous locations only.
All cables must be used in a conduit or cable gland to wire to a nonhazardous location. Do not disconnect a cable unless the cRIO-9030 is powered off or the area is known to be nonhazardous.
In addition, take precautions when designing, selecting, and installing measurement probes and cables to ensure that the desired EMC performance is attained. C Series modules. The cRIO-9030 has a primary power input, V1, and a secondary power input, V2. The POWER LED on the cRIO-9030 indicates which power input is in use, as shown in the following table.

Power on the primary power supply and optional secondary power supply. Powering On the cRIO-9030 When you power on the cRIO-9030 for the first time, the device boots into safe mode. The POWER LED illuminates, the STATUS LED illuminates briefly, and then the STATUS LED blinks twice every few seconds.
The device driver software automatically detects the cRIO-9030. If the device driver software does not detect the cRIO-9030, verify that you installed the appropriate NI software in the correct order on the host computer. You can also use the Ethernet port to connect directly to the host computer or network.

Click Next. Select NI Scan Engine from the software add-ons. Select any additional software to install. If you plan on using the cRIO-9030 with the LabVIEW FPGA Module, you can click Next. Click NI Scan Engine if you plan on using the cRIO-9030 without the LabVIEW FPGA Module.
