Status messages

These messages indicate normal phases of printer operation.

All lights flash briefly

Explanation
Light
Ink light flashing Ink cartridge(s) are nearly
empty (printing continues).
Ink light on Ink cartridge(s) are empty
(printing stops).
The paper source setting in
Paper light on
print options is different
from the control panel setting.
Paper light on The paper lever is in the
released position.
Paper light on The printer cannot detect
the paper.
Ink light on The maintenance tank is full.
Explanation or response
Printer is ready to print.
Printer is receiving data.
Printer is resetting.
Press the Pause button to continue.
Printer is initializing or performing maintenance. Wait
until READY appears.
Printer is paused.To resume printing, press the
Pause button.
Printer is cutting the paper.
Printer is charging the ink delivery system. Wait until
READY appears.
Response
Replace ink cartridge(s) indicated
on LCD. See page 5.
Replace ink cartridge(s) indicated

Make sure the right paper is loaded
and the paper source setting is the
same on the control panel and print
options.
Move the paper lever to the
secured position.
Make sure paper is loaded correctly
and the paper lever is secured. If
you're using cut sheets, make sure
the paper is flat.
Replace the maintenance tank. See
page 7.
