ENERGY LEVELS AND PATIENT IMPEDIANCE
The Biphasic Truncated Exponential (BTE) waveform utilizes variable energy. The actual energy delivered will vary with
the patient's impedance and the device will deliver a shock when impedance is between 25-180 Ohms. Energy will be
delivered at three different levels referred to as ultra-low variable energy, low variable energy, and high variable energy as
shown in the above waveform tables.
