Connect the router to the Arris SURFboard SB8200 modem using an Ethernet cable. Plug one end of the cable into the modem's Ethernet port and the other end into the router's WAN (Internet) port.

Just purchased a new arris surfboard sb8200. The unit is all plugged in. the top 3 lights come on. The 4th light (the internet light) shows a steady flashing. it never turns off. I've waited and waited. It never turns off. I have no tv service or computer or phone service. How long is a reasonable length of time for the 4th light to continue flashing?

During startup, all four LEDs on the Arris SURFboard SB8200 will flash and then light up solid in sequence. The exact duration of flashing is not specified.
