Questions and answers
Hi i have a Panasonic DMR HWT 260. Have moved house and went to play a video and noticed there was no picture of movie over left side. Also a blue square saying PAL. When i push play message says cannot play. Please help. Thanks.
If your Panasonic DMR-HWT260 shows no picture and displays a blue square saying PAL when trying to play a video, check the following:
1. Ensure the TV and the Panasonic unit are set to the same video format (PAL or NTSC).
2. Try changing the HDMI output settings on the unit.
3. If using composite or component cables, verify the connections are correct.
4. Restart both the TV and the Panasonic unit.
5. If the issue persists, reset the unit to factory settings by performing the "Shipping Condition" reset in the settings menu.
These steps should help resolve the issue.

My recorder only displays hold on the screen and will not change channels
The Panasonic DMR-HWT260 displays "HOLD" and does not change channels because the HOLD function is active. This function disables all buttons on the unit and remote control. To cancel it, press and hold [OK] and [RETURN] simultaneously until "XHOLD" disappears from the front panel display.
