Defroster switch (6)
This is used to clear the windshield and
side windows by pushing the switch. When
the defroster switch is on, the indicator
light above the defroster switch will come
on and the defroster display is shown in
the display.
When turning the defroster switch (6) on,
temperature-controlled air comes out of
the windshield defroster outlets, the side
defroster outlets and the side outlets.
Also, the air conditioning system will come
on and the "FRESH AIR" mode will be
selected automatically. But in very cold
weather, the air conditioning system will
not turn on.

NOTE:
If you need maximum defrosting:
• turn the defroster switch on (the air con-
ditioning system will come on and the
"FRESH AIR" mode will be selected
automatically),
• set the blower speed selector to HIGH,
• adjust the temperature selector to the
HOT end, and
• adjust the side outlets so the air blows
on the side windows.
INSTRUMENT PANEL
"AUTO" switch (7)
This is used to let the climate control sys-
tem work automatically. When pushing the
switch, the blower speed selector, air
intake selector and MODE (air flow) selec-
tor are controlled automatically to maintain
the set temperature. For details on how to
set the climate control system in fully auto-
matic operation, refer to the "System Oper-
ating Instructions" below.
"OFF" switch (8)
This is used to turn off the climate control
system.
