DIN rail installation
Adapters are available for installing the main and extension base units on
35 mm DIN rails. For secure installation, the screws used to fasten the rail in the
switchgear cabinet must be spaced not more than a maximum of 200 mm
apart.

Installing the adapter
R6DIN1
a Insert the hook (A) to the lower square hole of two square holes at the
upper part of the base unit and push the upper part of the hook until it
clicks (two spots).
b Project the hook B (B) on the downside shown in the top figure.
c Push the tab (C) of the hook into the two square holes at the lower part of
the base unit until it clicks. (two spots)
d Tighten the mounting screws (M3x10) of the hook with a screwdriver and
fix the hook. (total four spots (two mounting screws per one hook), tight-
ening torque: 0.37 to 0.48 Nm)
e Project the tab (4) of the hook on the upside by pushing up the hook (3).
f Hitch the upper part of the base unit to the DIN rail and push the lower part
of the base unit until it clicks.
Fix the stopper of the DIN rail.

Once the adapters have been installed you can mount the base unit on the DIN rail.
Connecting the extension cables
E
2
P Always connect the OUT connector on one base unit to the IN connec-
tor on the next base unit. If you do not observe this – for example, if you
connect the OUT connectors of two units – error-free operation of the
1
PLC will not be possible.
P Make sure that the extension cables are not pinched or kinked.
P Do not route the extension cable with a curve radius of less than
55 mm.
P Never pull or push on the ferrite core on the cable. Always hold the con-
nector to plug in the cable or to unplug it from the base unit. Pulling on
the ferrite core can open the connector and if the position of the core
on the cable is changed this will also change the electrical properties of
the cable.

lock buttons on the connector.
Installing the modules on the base unit
E
WARNING
P Always turn off the power supply before installing modules.
P Take care to position the module correctly over the guide lug in the
base unit, otherwise you may bend the pins in the module connector.
P Never touch any of the modules conductive parts or electronic compo-
nents. This can cause malfunctions or damage to the modules.
a Remove the extension con-
nector protective cover (2)
from the extension connector
cover (1) before the exten-
sion cable is connected to the
base unit.
b Insert the connector (3) of
the extension cable with the
triangle mark at the left side
to the connector of the base
unit . Loc k t he con nect or
securely until it clicks.
d Secure the module with a fastening screw (M3 x 12) in installation locations
where vibrations or impacts are expected. These screws are not included
with the modules.
Removal procedure
P
The module surface temperature may be high immediately after power-
off. When the module is removed, pay attention to the burn injury.
When module fixing screws are used, remove the screws first and module from
the base unit. Failure to do so may damage the module.
WARNING
a After turning off the power supply,
insert the lower lug (1) of the
module in the guide hole (2) in
A
the base unit.
B
b Push in the module until the mod-
ule fixing hook (3) snaps into
place.
c Check that the module fixing hook
(3) hangs the base unit and the
module is mounted on the base
unit securely.
C
DANGER

hands and securely press the mod-
ule fixing hook (1) with your finger.
b Pull the module straight supporting
it at its bottom while pressing the
