Trip Spring
Maintain the proper trip spring tension as follows (See Figure 5-3):
3⁄8" Max Gap
1.
There should be a 3⁄8" max gap between the top of the
spring and the upper lip of the blade.
2.
Tighten or loosen the hex screws on top of the blade to
obtain the proper gap.
Assist Springs
During operation, the lift handle is to be placed in the locked
down position to prevent blade float in light snow conditions.
At the operator's option, the assist springs (located behind rear
wheels) can be backed off approximately 1" on each side; This will
increase lift effort slightly but avoids the need to lock the handle
down. See Figure 5-4.
NOTE: Remember to fully tighten/re-tension the assist
springs when removing the blade and installing the deck.
