    Adjusting the Grass Shield Adjust the grass shield to ensure that the clippings are cleanly discharged from the reel area, as follows: Note: The shield is adjustable to compensate for changes in turf conditions. Adjust the shield closer to the reel when the turf is extremely dry. By contrast, adjust the shield further away from the reel when the turf conditions are wet.
