Removing the Existing Wheel
1. Park the tractor on a level surface and set the parking
brake. Turn the ignition key to Off to stop the engine.
Remove the key.
Caution
Accidental starting of the engine could seriously
injure you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the ignition switch before
you do any maintenance.
2. Lift the rear of the traction unit and remove the tire
assembly from the castor fork.
3. Remove the wheel hub assembly from the tire
assembly. Retain the lug nuts.
4. Remove the adapter plates from the castor fork.
5. Remove the grease fitting from the motor and hub
assembly (Fig. 1).

Installation Instructions
Assembling the Rear Wheel
1. Mount the tire assembly to the motor and hub
assembly with 4 lug nuts. Torque the lug nuts to 70–90
ft.-lb. (95–122 N⋅m). The valve stem should be on the
same side as the lug nuts.
2. Install the grease fitting in the hub assembly, pointing
it away from the tire.
3. Insert the flangettes and bearing onto the end of the
motor shaft as shown in Figure 1.
4. Position the motor hub, flangettes w/bearing, and tire
assembly into the castor fork. The ports on motor
should face to the rear.
5. Loosely secure the motor to the left, inside of the
castor fork with 2 socket head screws and 2 nuts.
6. Loosely secure the flangettes w/bearing and adapter
plate to the right inside of the castor fork with 3
screws, 3 locknuts, and a bearing tab. Position the
grease fitting on the flangette downward. Tighten
motor screws to 85 ft.-lb. (115 N⋅m) and the flangette
screws to 30 ft.-lb. (41 N⋅m).

  • Page 2 8. Verify the overrunning bearing operation by checking that the tire rolls freely forward, but engages the wheel motor when rolled backwards. 9. Lower the rear of the traction unit to the ground. 10. Apply the decals to each side of the castor fork as shown in Figure 2.
  • Page 3 Installing the ROPS 8. Turn the steering fork fully side to side to check for proper hose flex and position. The hoses should not rub on the tanks, steering fork, or steering hoses. Note 1. Lower the ROPS frame onto the mounting brackets, that the hose clamp brackets are slotted vertically to aligning the mounting holes as shown in Figure 8.
