4.3 Setting the device name (NameOfStation) of an IO device on
PROFINET IO
The user program can change and activate the device name (NameOfStation) for the
SIMOTION device on the PROFINET IO using system functions. The activation results in a
restart of SIMOTION.
Note
After changing the configured device name (NameOfStation), the following should be noted:
● It is no longer possible to route via this interface into other devices or interfaces (see
● Controller-controller data exchange broadcast is no longer possible.
If these functionalities are still required, follow Activating a configuration (Page 89) instead.
