•
AFMS
6.1 Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA)
Use checkout log sheet contained in Appendix A of the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness &
Maintenance Manual, GDL 82 Mooney M20() Series STC, Garmin P/N 190-01810-11 to record aircraft
information and system configuration settings, including the following:

b. Aircraft model
c. Aircraft registration number
d. Aircraft serial number
e. GDL 82 part number
f. GDL 82 serial number
g. GDL 82 software version
h. Fill in the configuration settings log (documented in Section 5.2.2)

6.2 Aircraft Weight and Balance
Aircraft weight and balance must be updated after the installation of the GDL 82 is complete. Figure 6-1
lists the unit weight and example arm and moment values for the GDL 82 Option 1 installation example
shown in Figure 3-1. Figure 6-2 shows the example arm and moment values for the GDL 82 Option 2 &
3 installation example shown in Figure 3-2 and Figure 3-3, respectively.
The arm and moments must be verified for every installation.
Aircraft weight and balance must be performed in accordance with the aircraft maintenance or flight
manual procedures for leveling and weighing. The aircraft empty weight center of gravity (CG) with GDL
82 installed must be within type design limits, as specified in aircraft POH or AFM.
NOTE
Weights specified in Figure 6-1 and Figure 6-2 include GDL 82 unit and connectors. Refer to
Table 1-4 for basic dimensions of the unit.
