SEPUs
A PSU-B can supply up to 56 station devices or Station Equivalent Power Units (SEPUs). A second
PSU can supply up to 64 station devices or SEPUs (for a total of 120 stations). Several interface cards,
other than station cards, consume 48V power and the consumption of these cards is rated in SEPUs.
The table below shows the SEPU rating of all the cards that consume 48V.

(All other cards have a SEPU rating of 0)
(* Note: The maximum SEPU rating per system slot is 24. A DS-5012L keyset is rated at 3 SEPUs, so connect-
ing, for example, four of these keysets to a DLI card increases the card's rating from 16 to 24.)
Cards are also allocated priority ratings from 1 to 4 (1 being the highest). If a higher priority card is
added to a system which is already operating to its maximum power supply capacity (e.g. 56 SEPUs),
lower priority cards will lose an appropriate number of SEPUs in order to allocate them to the new card.
In this case, to ensure that all cards are operating to their maximum SEPU rating, a second power
supply (PSU-60) should be installed.
When the system is operational, you can determine which PSU is supplying each card—or whether a
card is turned on or off—using MMC 806, Card Pre-install. The program will indicate which cabinet
and slot a card is installed in, if the card is turned off (P:N)*, or if it is supplied by the PSU-B (P:1) or by
the PSU-60 (P:2). It will also indicate how many card ports are being serviced: e.g. P:2[08] indicates
eight ports are serviced.
(* Note: The display P:N may also indicate that the card has a SEPU rating of 0 or that the PSU is faulty.)
