Servicing the Hydraulic
System
Replacing the Hydraulic Filter
Change the hydraulic filter:
After the first 8 operating hours.
After every 200 operating hours.
1.
Park the traction unit on a level surface, to
ensure that fuel tank drains completely.
2.
Place drain pan under filter, remove the old
filter, and wipe the filter adapter gasket surface
clean.
3.
Apply a thin coat hydro fluid to the rubber
gasket on the replacement filter (Fig. 22).
4.
Install a replacement hydraulic filter onto the
filter adapter. Tighten it clockwise until the
rubber gasket contacts the filter adapter, then
tighten the filter an additional 1/2 turn (Fig. 22).
IMPORTANT: Do not substitute an

Park the traction unit on a level surface.
2.
Place a large drain pan under the traction unit

hydraulic tank and allow the fluid to completely
drain out.
4.
Install the drain plug.
5.
Fill the hydraulic tank with approximately 15
gal. (57 L) of Toro Hy-Pro, Mobil Fluid 424, or
equivalent (refer to Checking Hydraulic Fluid on

result.
Note:
Dispose of used oil at a certified
recycling center.
Checking Hydraulic Lines
After every 100 operating hours, check the hydraulic
lines and hoses for leaks, loose fittings, kinked lines,
loose mounting supports, wear, weather and chemical

every 1500 hours or 2 years, whichever comes first.
