Switch operation and the system function
1 Power switch
When the power switch is in the OFF position, the
wheelchair, and the wheelchair can be used manually.
When the power switch is in the ON position, the indication light (red) will light on with a "pi-"
sound. In approximately 3 seconds, the light will go off and power assisted travel is enabled.
NOTE:
If force is applied to the hand rims when the power switch is ON, the safety system will be activated,
and power assisted travel will be inhibited. Release the force from the hand rims and then turn on the
power switch again.
If the power is turned ON while the connector between the right and left wheel is disconnected,
the safety system will be activated, and travel is inhibited. Turn on the power switch again after
connecting the connector.
If the safety system is activated while the power switch is ON, a buzzer make a "pi——" sound
for approximately 1 second and the indication light will blink rapidly (approximately 0.25 sec-
ond cycle).
2 When starting to move
Check the remaining amount of battery power, and if it is low, charge the battery before resum-
ing travel.
If the indication light blinks slowly at a cycle of approximately 1 second, or lights continuously,
the battery has run down. Replace the battery before using the wheelchair.
The wheelchair cannot be used if the indication light is continuously on immediately after re-
placing the battery. There may be a malfunction in the system.
3 Warning of the remaining battery power
Replace the battery as soon as possible when the indicating light starts blinking slowly at a
cycle of approximately 1 second and the buzzer sounds "pi-pi-pi-pi".
If power assisted travel is continued until the battery has completely run out, the indication light
will light, and the buzzer will make a "pi——" sound. The brakes will then be applied to the
wheels.
Turn off the switch and move to a safe area, and then replace the battery with the spare
battery.
4 Manual travel
Whether there is battery power or not, when the power switch is ON, the brakes will be applied to
the wheelchair. When traveling manually, turn off the power switch and travel at a safe speed.
5 Self-diagnosis function
If the indication light goes on suddenly, the buzzer makes a "pi——" sound (for approximately
1 second), and the brakes are applied to the vehicle during power assisted travel, there may be
a malfunction in the system. Stop power assisted travel.
(If the battery is run out, the indication light will blink slowly (approximately 1 second cycle)
beforehand, and the buzzer will make a "pi-pi-pi-pi" sound. In this case, the system is working
normally.)
6 Auto-Power Off Function
To conserve the battery, if there is no input to the hand rims for 5 minutes, the power will be
turned off automatically. The buzzer will make a "pi-" sound when the power goes off. To try to
use the power again, turn it off and then on again.
