The video cassette's erase pre ven-
tion tab is br oken off .
The time is not set correctly.
The recor ding star t/end time is not
set correctl y.
The TIMER button has not been
pressed (the REC TIMER indicator is
not lit.).
Tape is old or worn.
Tracking adjustment is be yond rang e
of automatic trac king cir cuit.
Video heads are dirty.
The remote control is not aimed at
the sensor .
Distance is too far or too m uch light
in the room.
There is an obstacle in the path of
the beam.
The batteries are weak.
The batteries are not inser ted
correctl y.
Before setting the c loc k, you can
operate onl y 3 Menu options, CLOCK
SET/LANGUAGE/AUTO CLOCK.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Tune new channel.
Set Sleep Timer to "0".
Try another c hannel.
Check CATV connection of VHF/
UHF antenna, reposition or rotate
antenna.
Press the TV/CAP/TEXT button to
turn on the c losed caption.
Place a piece of vin yl tape o ver
the hole .
Reset the present time.
Reset the start/end time.
Press the TIMER button (the REC
TIMER indicator is lit.).
Replace the tape.
Adjust trac king man uall y using the
TRACKING + and – b uttons on
the remote control.
Clean the video heads.
Aim the remote control at the
remote sensor .
Operate within 15 f eet or reduce
the light of the room.
Clear the path of the beam.
Replace the batteries.
Insert correctly.
Set the clock.
