Congratulations on your purchase of this Honda Security System. Your Honda Security System is the product of years of research and development. It will give you many years of reliable performance, protection, and convenience. The system consists of two major components: a main unit and a remote control transmitter. -

Emergency Disarming • The system can be disarmed using the ignition key regardless of the method used to arm During the Panic the system. • This method of disarming also serves as an emergency override if the remote control Alarm Activation transmitter cannot be used. -

Arming Mode (MANUAL AUTOMATIC) NOTE: Steps 1 thru 5 must be completed within 5 seconds. Insert the ignition key. Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch. System Controls Arming Mode (AUTOMATIC MANUAL) Turn the ignition key from the ON (II) position to the LOCK (0) position. Remove the key from the ignition switch. LOCK Status Open a door or the tailgate and close it. (The EXIT delay starts.) Check that the status LED blinks. -

Placing the System in the Valet Mode (Valet Mode can be changed only from Automatic Arming Mode) NOTE: Steps 1 and 2 must be completed within 5 seconds. Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch. Press the UNLOCK button on the remote control transmitter three times. The Status LED flashes once, indicating that the system is ready to change the mode. -

Page 9: Exit From The Valet Mode
Exit From the Valet Mode With the system in the Valet mode, take the key out of the ignition switch. Press the UNLOCK button on the remote control transmitter. Observe that the Status LED flashes twice, indicating that the system is out of the Valet mode. The system is now in the Disarm mode. -

Arming Arming Methods Manual Arming (Remote Controlled) There are two possible ways to arm the system: • MANUAL Arming (Remote Control) • AUTOMATIC Arming (Passive) • When the main unit is set to MANUAL, the system is armed by using the remote control transmitter. -

Tripped Sensor Warning and Indication Tripped Sensor Indication Disarm the security system. Close the door and tailgate. Insert the ignition key. Within 1 second after step 2, open a door or the tailgate. 4628070B Within 1 second after step 3, remove the key from the ignition switch. Status The status LED flashes to indicate which sensor(s) was/were tripped. -

The amount of time the horn sounds when the alarm is tripped or the panic feature is ALARM DURATION activated. The duration is 30 seconds. To turn the security system’s protection on.
