Shroud and covers
Securely fasten the shroud and covers before
operating the snowmobile. (See page 45 for
removal and installation procedures.)

• Do not drive the snowmobile with the
shroud or covers unfastened or re-
moved.
• Keep your body and clothing away from
rotating parts when servicing the snow-
mobile with the shroud or covers re-
moved.
• Do not touch the hot muffler and engine
during or immediately after operation.

CAUTION:
Make sure that all cables, leads, etc., are
routed properly before installing the
shroud and covers.

Drive guard
The drive guard is designed to cover the V-
belt clutch and V-belt in case parts break or
come loose.
1. Drive guard

• Make sure that the drive guard is tight-
ened securely before operating the
snowmobile.
• Never run the engine with the V-belt or
drive guard removed.
