4. Reassemble the disk tray.
Make sure that the hard disk connectors face the interior of the disk bay when you
reassemble the disk tray.
5. Slide the disk tray back into the unit and secure the handle.
The volume automatically synchronizes with the new disk in the background. This could
take several hours depending on the disk size. You can continue to use your ReadyNAS,
although access is slower until the volume synchronization finishes. You are notified by
email when the process is complete.

System Components

You can replace system components on your ReadyNAS rack-mount storage system.

X-Change System Module

On the 1500 and 2100, replace the X-Change system module to replace any components
such as power supplies, fans, or batteries.

To replace the X-Change system module:
1. Loosen the thumb screws at the back of the unit.
2. Slide the old X-Change system module off the unit.

3. Slide a new X-Change system module onto the unit.
4. Tighten the thumb screws.
