With this function, transmission or polling is performed automatically at a speci-
fied time without operator assistance. The remote unit must be dialed using
a speed-dial code. The types of operations that can be set for a later time in-
clude: (1) normal transmission; (2) confidential transmisson; (3) relay request;
and (4) polling. The FO-220 has two timers--- one of which can be set for nor-
mal transmission, confidential transmission or relay request; and the other timer
for polling. A timer transmission or polling operation can be used to take ad-
vantage of lower phone rate periods. A preset timer operation can also be
cleared if necessary before the operation takes place.
NOTES:
When timer function has been set, transmission/reception to/from another
remote unit is still possible. However, be sure to terminate any other trans-
mission/reception before the set time, or the timer operation will not take place.
With a timer transmission, also be sure to set the documents in the feeder
before the preset time arrives.
For a timer transmission, the AUTO contrast setting is used (a manual set-
ting cannot be selected).
For confirmation and reference of a preset timer operation, print-out the Reser-
vation List (see p.101).
A timer operation is automatically cleared upon completion.
When the same timer operation is used frequently, it is recommended to pro-
gram that operation into one of the three available Program Keys for con-
venience (see "Program Autodialing," p.91).
A timer can be set within a 24 hour range, and if the day of the week is speci-
fied, presetting can be done up to a week in advance.
