PLAYBACK
SINGLE PLAYBACK
{using only one deck, either deck | or deck If}
Insert a recorded tape.
Set the DOLBY NR switch @).
Set the stereo amplifier for tape playback.
Press the playback {®) button @.

Playback can be performed on either deck 1 or deck IH,
only one at a time.

Always set the DOLBY
NR switch @) to the same posi-
tion used for recording.
When Piayback.is Finished
Press the stop ( @} button @.
REPEAT
PLAYBACK
1.
Insert a cassette to be played back repeatedly.
2.
Set the TIMER mode selector ( to PLAY/REPEAT po-
sition.

Press the playback P button (.
The unit automatically enters the repeat and relay/blank skip
modes (the
indicator lights up) and the cassettes are
played back as follows.
*« When a cassette is loaded in DECK | or DECK I
One side of the cassette is played back 16 times repeat-
edly with the blank skip function.
* When cassettes are loaded in both DECK I and DECK II
The two cassettes are alternately played back (one side
only) for a total of 16 times (8 times each) with relay play
and blank skip functions.
NOTE:
*
When not performing repeat operation, set the TIMER mode
selector
%) to OFF position.
If the selector
is left in the
PLAY/REPEAT
position, playback will automatically start when
the unit is turned on

During repeat playback {with relay play/blank skip functions),
pressing the tape transport mode buttons © to ® and @® to @
will reset the number
to be repeated.

RELAY PLAYBACK
{using both decks for continuous playback}
1.
Insert recorded tapes in both decks.
2.
Set the DOLBY NR switch @.
3.
Set the stereo amplifier for tape playback.
4.
Press the RELAY/SKIP button @.
The indicator will light up.
5.
Press the playback (P) button @ of the deck where
playback is to start.

The playback switches over to the tape in the other deck
and stops automatically when the tape reaches the end. This
operation differs. fromthe one when the repeat function is
also operated at the same time.
When Playback is Finished
Press the stop {™) button @.

Continuous playback can be performed either from deck
I to deck Hl or from deck il. to deck I.

For relay playback, always use tapes recorded with the
same Dolby NR version, and set the DOLBY NR switch
@ to the same position used for recording.

For continuous
playback
of different tapes,
you
can
replace tapes already listened to during playback on the
other deck. This is a convenient feature for party or back-
ground music.

If mute playback continues for more than 15 seconds
with the
indicator lit, the blank skip function will
automatically search for the beginning of the next selec-
tion and resume playback from there.
To cancel relay playback, press the RELAY/SKIP button
@ once again (turning the [REL] indicator off).
BLANK SKIP
(skipping unrecorded portions during playback)
Press the RELAY/SKIP button (3), turning the correspond-
ing indicator on. Then blank skip function will work. In this
mode, when an unrecorded portion continues for more than
15 seconds, the unit will fast-forward the tape to the be-
ginning of the next selection, then resume playback there.
