Remote Control Module
for use with select
PowerVerter

The Remote Control Module allows you to remotely monitor and control many of the functions of
select* Tripp Lite PowerVerter PV Inverters and PowerVerter APS, RV or EMS Inverter/Chargers.
* Only those models featuring an RJ45 Remote Port.
Installation
Labeling: Affix the appropriate label to the front panel of the Remote Control Module so that the
holes in the label align with the Module's LEDs and switch.** If your Remote Control Module will
be used with a PowerVerter . . .
• INVERTER (PV series) ....................................................choose the label marked "PV"
• INVERTER/CHARGER (APS or RV** series) ............choose the label marked "APS"
** EMS series Inverter/Chargers will already have the appropriate labeling and will not require a separate label.
Connection (Remote Control/Monitoring): Connect one end of the included RJ-type cable into
the RJ45 Remote Port on the front of your PowerVerter Inverter or Inverter/Charger. Connect the
other end into either of the two RJ45 Remote Ports on the bottom of the Remote Control Module.
Daisychain capability: You can control a single PowerVerter Inverter or Inverter/Charger
with two separate Remote Control Modules. Connect one Remote Control Module directly
to the PowerVerter as described above. Connect either of the two RJ45 Remote Ports on the
bottom of the second Remote Control Module directly to the remaining RJ45 Remote Port
on the bottom of the first Remote Control Module using an RJ-type cable, included.
Optional Connection (Ignition Lockout—Select Models Only): Ignition Lockout automatically
switches off your PowerVerter when a vehicle's ignition is turned off. This connection is optional;
the Remote Control Module will function without this connection. Connect one end of the Ignition
Lockout Cable (included with select models) into the Ignition Lockout Port and wire the other end
to the vehicle's ignition: red to positive, black to ground.
THE IGNITION LOCKOUT FUNCTION IS ONLY FOR USE
Wiring the Ignition Lockout Cable to your vehicle's ignition requires a qualified technician,
Mounting: Using two to four user-supplied screws appropriate to your mounting surface, attach the
Remote Control Module securely so that the LEDs can be clearly seen.

AUTO/CHRG ONLY Switch: Inverter/Charger provide connected equipment with AC power (converted from DC power from attached batteries) in the event of an AC power outage. Move it to the "CHARGE ONLY" position when equipment is not in use to conserve battery power by disabling the inverter.

    Limited Warranty Tripp Lite warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year (domestic) or 120 days (export) from the date of initial purchase. Tripp Lite’s obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing (at its sole option) any such defective products.
