Definitions: Safety Alert Symbols and Words
This instruction manual uses the following safety alert symbols and words to alert you to
hazardous situations and your risk of personal injury or property damage.
DANGER: Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result
in death or serious injury.
WARNING: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could
result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result
in minor or moderate injury.
(Used without word) Indicates a safety related message.
NOTICE: Indicates a practice not related to personal injury which, if not avoided,
may result in property damage.
General Safety Warnings
WARNING: Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, read the instruction manual.
WARNING: For use by adults. Not to be used on children under 8 years old or anyone
that would be unable to remove the device on their own.
WARNING: Discontinue use if there is any skin irritation, or if the device cannot be
adjusted to a comfortable temperature.
WARNING: Some medical conditions, medical devices, or medications can cause
sensitivity to heat or cold. Consult device manufacturer or your physician to determine if
use of this product is appropriate.
WARNING: Do not use in extreme temperature environments. Device should not be
used to prevent any thermal medical symptoms such as heat stroke or fever.
WARNING: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
WARNING: Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
WARNING: If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or
assembly available from the manufacturer or its service agent.
