Editing an Existing Share

After a share is created, you can make changes to it, such as changing user or group permissions,
changing the share attributes, and adding a DFS shared folder.
To edit a share:
1. From the Manager Menu, click Share
2. Click Edit for the share you want to change.
The Edit Share page appears.
3. Although the Location field lets you make changes to the volume on which the share is located, if
you change the location of the share, existing data on the share is NOT migrated. Doing so will
orphan existing data.
4. You can change the comment from the Comment field as required. This comment appears when
you browse the NSS from My Network Places (as the tooltip when you hover over the share, or
if you select the Details viewing mode).
5. The Share attributes checkbox determines if the share is read-only or if users can write to the
share:
• Public: All users can write to the share.
